Have you ever wondered if you are a right or a left brained thinker?

Just cuz you are right handed does not mean you think with the the right side of your brain. Here is a fun little test to take to see how you think:

So what you may have discovered is most people think with the left side of their brain.

The Left Brain is your verbal and logical brain. Similar to a computer, it breaks down questions with numbers and words.

The Right Brain is the non-verbal part of your brain. It thinks in pictures or patterns.

Why is this helpful to know…Because when you are trying to learn or memorize answers for a text, try incorporating pictures and patterns along with numbers and words…

That way you are using YOUR ENTIRE BRAIN TO LEARN!

I had a wonderful time in Reading Corner at the Whetstone Library today. I read about Splat the Cat. Splat is a cat who does not want to learn how to swim—water is horrible, scary, and wet! He’s sure that this is going to be the worst day ever. SO, how does Splat overcome his fear of water and get into the pool?Borrow a copy and read it for yourself.

Splish, Slash, Splat the CAT!

The great thing about Splat is he not only learns about how awesome water is, he learns how to share his toys and how he can turn a bad day into a good one.  I only wish the cats didn’t call each other ‘Losers’ because LOSER is a mean word.

Here are 20 NON-Mean words Kids can use instead of LOSER!
